Kampala, Uganda – December 14, 2025
The Judiciary Muslims Association (JUMA) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 13, 2025, at the elegant Hotel Africana in Kampala. This marks the continuation of a cherished tradition observed for the past five years, bringing together members at the close of each year.
The event, hosted by the association’s Patron, Hon. Justice Musa Ssekaana, featured the election and swearing-in of a new executive committee to lead the association in the coming years.

Distinguished guests included Her Lordship Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya, President of the Uganda Judicial Officers’ Association (UJOA) and Vice President of the International Association of Women Judges. Other High Court judges in attendance were Hon. Issa Sserunkuuma, Hon. Bukirwa Farida, Hon. Lubega Farouk, Hon. Nanziri Fatuma, and Hajji Hirome Sulaiman (Principal Assistant Secretary).
The gathering was well-attended by Muslim judicial officers and support staff from across the ranks, including Registrars, Deputy Registrars, Chief Magistrates, Grade I Magistrates, drivers, office supervisors, court clerks, and numerous others within the Judiciary.
A key highlight was the keynote speech delivered by Dr. Abdul Hafeez Walusimbi, who shared the head table with Counsel Katantazi Siraje, CEO of the Uganda Muslim Lawyers Association, and Counsel Zubedah Namugenyi of the Muslim Centre for Arbitration.

The association also shared exciting updates, noting that it is in the final stages of launching a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO). This initiative is designed to enhance members’ financial welfare and promote an entrepreneurial mindset within the community.
The AGM reinforced the JUMA’s dedication to fostering unity, professional growth, and mutual support among Muslim members of Uganda’s Judiciary.
